Changes to testing for high risk and household contacts

Changes to testing recommendations for high risk and household contacts

Please read the following changes to testing recommendations for household contacts and those who have had a high risk exposure to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.

From today (Wednesday 19 January 2021) high risk and household contacts will no longer require any further tests after your day 6 test, unless you develop COVID-19 symptoms.

If you are a high risk or household contact, follow the instructions on our website which includes:

  • getting tested as soon as you are aware that you are a high risk contact or living in the same household as someone diagnosed with COVID-19

This change is in line with national guidelines and will help ACT Health prioritise COVID-19 testing for those who need it most.

If you develop (or redevelop) any COVID-19 symptoms, get a COVID-19 test.
