Changes to testing recommendations for high risk and household contacts
- Do you live with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19?
- Have you had a high risk exposure to COVID-19?
Please read the following changes to testing recommendations for household contacts and those who have had a high risk exposure to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
From today (Wednesday 19 January 2021) high risk and household contacts will no longer require any further tests after your day 6 test, unless you develop COVID-19 symptoms.
If you are a high risk or household contact, follow the instructions on our website which includes:
- getting tested as soon as you are aware that you are a high risk contact or living in the same household as someone diagnosed with COVID-19
- quarantine for 7 days
- take a second test on day 6 following your exposure.
This change is in line with national guidelines and will help ACT Health prioritise COVID-19 testing for those who need it most.
If you develop (or redevelop) any COVID-19 symptoms, get a COVID-19 test.
